Spirit and Body

I believe that there are things our spirits can teach us about our bodies, and vice versa.

One thought I had today in the shower was the need for regular cleansing. Our bodies generate oils, sweat, and attract dirt and bacteria. If you don't clean it regularly, it starts to stink and decay.

I believe the same is true of our spirits. Church once a week isn't enough. Just like one shower a week is not enough. To avoid the decay of our spirits, daily spiritual renewal is needed to remove the negative parts of our spirit, the influences of evil. There is seldom an immediate severe result to skipping a day or two. You may notice you feel 'less fresh', but you are setting yourself up for some serious concerns.

Also, our bodies consume a lot to function. Food, air, water. They use the parts that are beneficial and eliminate the wastes.

What is the spiritual equivalent? Our spirits consume thoughts (ours and others) feelings, and ideas. The elimination process is what we call repentance. This is the surrendering our of sins to Christ. There is no other way to get rid of them. Holding on to our sins has a much more direct and pronounced effect. You can get 'stinky' real quick.

In the past I have been very weak in taking care of my spirit like I should my body. The freedom from work has given me time to be able to put together. I don't know if I could form a daily routine while working my previous job.

Good thoughts. Good luck on the job hunting. I predict a good job.

The spiritual routine is more important than a job--meaning there has to be a way. I struggle with it balancing my work--I keep trying, too.
