Hey all, it looks like its time for my monthly post.

I'm going to be moving soon. I've been leasing a one room apartment by myself for a fair amount of money. I found a place just half a mile south where someone is renting a room for about a third of what I'm currently paying. I will be moving in this weekend. It probably means an interruption of internet service for me.

Also, some of you may have known my computer was dying. The hard drive was vibrating, making lots of clicking noises, and being unreliable. I got three refund checks in the mail yesterday so I upgraded to a brand new drive, and copied my files over.

When I had to reboot to copy the files, the drive didn't want to start. So I turned the computer off, unplugged the drive, and smacked it hard against the kitchen counter. It then worked long enough to copy the rest of the files. I don't think I'll ever use it again.

So all is happy. And I love Jana.

I'm glad the smack helped. I wonder why it did.

I'm betting smacking it un-stuck whatever reading head was stuck. Also, as crazy as it sounds, placing the hard drive in a plastic bag and putting it in the freezer works too.

How's the move going?
