6 Months with Jana

Today marks 6 months from my first date with Jana. I'd have to say its been a very splendid 6 months. Some of the most turbulant, and best of my life. Love is something I've never fallen into before, and I must remark that its pretty phenomenal. I must say that I don't think we were meant to face life alone. Having someone to share the burdens and the joys feels very natural.

I've found in Jana some very remarkable qualities. She is intelligent, and our world views seem so similiar. I feel that there is a whole group of concerns and issues that we agree upon, so we've kinda been able to skip a bunch of the busy work in getting to know each other. (Its either that, or there is a whole lot of ground we haven't broken yet. Time will tell.) Before moving to Utah, I had some vague ideas about the qualities I'd like in a girl. One of the few concrete needs I had, was that the person be able to understand me, and be able to think on a similiar level as myself. A key talent of mine is my intelligence, others have often recognized that in me, and I've shown on many ocassions that I can tackle intellectual puzzles well.

I've been delighted that Jana understands me. We've got our own playful banter that seems to be pretty light on the surface, but part of the fun seems to be that even those simple jabs or questions touch on something that could be given a lot of thought. Along the way I've found a lot of other things that I like. Her smile. Her genuine concern for others. She's got a bunch of playfulness in her. The way she challenges me to step out of my comfort zone. Its also been rewarding to have someone else's expectations to work towards. Its different when you only have your own opinions to measure up to, and you only have you to reward yourself. Getting someone else in the equation makes things much more rewarding.

We're going to a have a dinner to mark our 6 months, and I've gotten a gift for Jana which I think she'll really enjoy. Yesterday Jana mentioned she was working on a 'project' that I couldn't know much about except that there are 'no sleeves'. Regardless what the specifics are, I'm really looking forward to tonight.

Details may or may not follow.

Thanks, ~Tilendor

Bravo! I noted Jana talking in what appeared to be all earnestness to a whole line of my little nieces and nephews on the other side of the picnic table at the family reunion. I liked that. Next were some comments in conversation, which I cannot remember--but I noted they were intelligent and thoughtful. I see evidence that she is wise and compassionate. And then ... your playfulness and loving behavior toward each other seems a bit of a winner also.

And the sisters in my Relief Society thought about the same as above, after her comments during the lesson.
