Ginormisly Jumbled June

Life, Biking, SCA

Well, I'm at 25 days from my last post... and boy has a lot happened. Where do I start? How about InTheBegining?

Uprising

Went well... once I got there. The plan was to pack Tuesday night, hit work for a little on Wednesday, get the oil changed & a car tuneup, and leave Wednesday night.

It didn't happen. I slacked an not packed on Tuesday. The tune-up and oil change also involved a new clutch for my truck, to the tune of $568, and a lost afternoon. I packed after 6:00pm and decided around 9:00 to wait to leave until Thursday.

I sleep, I wake up, do a little shopping and finally get on the free-way at around 11:00. A nice 4:00 hour drive with nothing betwwen me and Idaho falls except the open road. I arrive around 7:30pm. I was drowsy, pulled over 4 times to nap so I didn't crash.

When I finally got there, unpacked and ended up setting up in a slight rain. It was a little dissappointing. The group had thought I was notgoing to show up, so I was quite happy to show them otherwise. Pulled a 2:00am to 4:00 am security shift

Friday morning had an archery competition, so I had to go do that. I tied for 5th place out of 11, the final four got to be in shoot-out. It was fun, but then a downpour came. It was some serious rain, and it was a long walk back to camp, they don't want any stray arrows hurting anyone. I hopped into my car an waited the rain out, it took a couple hours, then went back to camp.

More rain happened so amoung other things(Ok, one thing, I was broke) I bought a very heavy, fuzzy and warm cloak. Eveyone ought to own such a thing. They're almost a luxury item in my opinion.

Slept did a 4:00am - 6:00am security shift. Next day being Saterday, the weather was lovely the whole day. I competed again in archery, just for fun, then watched some fighting. Finally that day was the Grand Ball, for which I put on my finest tunic. Dancing was fun and it was good to give the girls an opportunity to dance.

Packed up Sunday, had our post-Uprising meal and headed home. This time I only stopped 2 times to sleep, but slept for about 2 hours total. In addition, I ran out of coolant, so I had to refill. This was an odd and undesirable thing.

Water Pump Saga

I come back and consult with Dad, he thinks I've a bad seal on my water pump. After just fixing the clutch I'm all sorts of happy about this. I stop by shucks on Monday to get the part. 3 Days later, 1 wrong part and a hassel later, I finally get the pump. I install it on Saterday and it seems to be working great now.

Wrangled Wrist

More to come.
